We talk a lot about Revival. For us, this word is important because it doesn't just mean a restoration of something, it is a reminder to stay concious and focused on "Point B". Without focus, there can be no Revival. A new chapter of focus for the Revival has started. It is centered around something that EVERYONE is familiar with.... We sing about many different liquids in our songs, but the most important liquid is water. Without this liquid, all of our efforts for Revival are useless. Unfortunately, this most basic of all needs is not readily available to millions of people. So, in an effort to do something about this, Old Southern Moonshine Revival has teamed up with the Wine to Water organization. What Wine to Water does is very simple; they provide clean water to people around the world who do not have it. The beauty of Wine to Water is that they follow the old "teach a man to fish" proverb. They do not provide clean water with thousands of bottles, they provide clean water with shovels, sweat, and hard work. Wine to Water digs wells that tap into the underground aquifers that run beneath villages and towns that otherwise have no means of accessing these aquifers. By doing so, Wine to Water empowers the community and the individual with the ability to solve their own water and sanitation needs. Wine to Water teaches communities how to fish. Currently, Wine to Water is aggressively working in war-torn Darfur and other areas of the Sudan. In addition, Wine to Water is working in New Delhi, India to provide clean water to a large 300 child orphanage as well as a leper colony. Wine to Water is also in the process of raising funds to assess local needs in Guatemala, Ethiopia, and Cambodia. What is O.S.M.R. going to do to help this cause? The short answer is, "all that we can do and then a bit more". O.S.M.R. has committed 10% of all sales to go to providing clean water to those who don't have it. That means that every song you buy, every shirt you buy, every ticket you buy, you are helping the cause. You will start to see information about Wine to Water at our concerts. You will meet people affiliated with Wine to Water at our concerts. You will hear about us making trips to far away places besides Nashville and L.A. for totally different reasons. You will hear us talk about clean water more and more, and then you will talk about clean water to your friends. You will begin to associate the Revival with a concious effort that means more than just songs and melody.
